 Sarah Ann Davis - Abt 1861
My Father and Mother by Clara Newman Sigler A personal account of her parent's lives. Included in "Record of the Sigler Family" compiled by Ethel Sigler. Luther Stone Newman was the son of John P. and Mary Newman, was born in Ohio near Circleville or Zanesville (have no records). Came to Missouri in the 1850's, was a schoolteacher. he met my mother in Calaway County, I think, as her brothers and sisters lived there. She was Sarah Ann Davis. When they married they lived on a farm in Monroe County, 15 miles north of Mexico, Missouri. They had three children. I am the second one. The others died when they were babies. My mother died when I was about two and a half years old. My father died in 1877, as near as we could ascertain. Think he is buried in Texas County, Missouri. Mother is buried in Santa Fe, Monroe County, Missouri.
